Why The Agenda exists
What’s going on in town is scattered everywhere: agendas buried in PDF packets on city websites, church events on Facebook, the restaurant’s live-music night on Instagram, road work in a state press release. The Agenda pulls it all into one place, checks it against the source and writes it up in plain English.
What we cover
You choose the communities you care about — state, county, then town — and The Agenda follows them. We’re starting with 26 communities in Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Lincoln and Moore counties, Tennessee: public meetings, agendas and minutes; events from churches, restaurants, venues, schools, libraries and community groups; local news; and state road work. More towns open as we add their sources.
How we work
- Every item links to its source. Agendas and minutes link to the official document; news links to the outlet that reported it.
- Our own words. We summarize; we don’t copy other outlets’ reporting.
- AI-assisted and double-checked. Items are researched and written with AI, then checked against the original source by a second, independent AI review before anything goes live. Minutes summaries are labeled as AI-assisted, and the official document is always the record.
- Estimated dates are labeled. When a meeting date comes from a board’s regular schedule rather than a posted agenda, we say so.
- Corrections are welcome. If we got something wrong or missed something, tell us. Every report is checked against the original source.
